He has expanded Medicaid to make affordable health care available to tens of thousands of previously uninsured Ohioans. He has reversed a history of credit downgrades by the reporting bureaus to where Ohio is now boasts a strong financial position. He has bolstered safety net programs for the working poor and the mentally ill and he has changed the culture in the state’s response to drug abuse from incarceration to rehabilitation. He has accomplished all of this while lowering taxes more than any other sitting governor in the country.
