MIDDLE FINGER SALUTE

Mitch McConnell says that the Republican led Senate’s refusal to hold hearings on the President Obama’s nominee for the vacant Supreme Court seat: “It’s not about the person.  It’s about principle.”

You see McConnell and his fellow Republicans would have us believe that by allowing President Obama to appoint the next Supreme Court Justice, Mitch and his buddies would be denying the American people the opportunity to weigh-in on such an important decision in the form of a vote cast in November.  According to Mitch, this has nothing to do with politics; “it’s about principle.”

How magnanimous!

How utterly devoid of reality.  Has Mitch forgotten that the people DID weigh-in by electing Barak Obama president…twice?

McConnell is not that stupid.

Truth be told this has nothing to do with principle. This is about sticking it to the president.

The proof can be found in McConnell’s own words.

A few days after McConnell made his “principled” statement he had this exchange with a reporter.

Reporter:  “If Hillary Clinton were to win the general election would the senate then consider holding hearings on the president nominee:  Merrick Garland.”

McConnell: “No!  There will be no hearings in the lame duck session.”

This tactic by the Republican senate has nothing to do with principle, or the constitution or denying the American people an opportunity to weigh-in on the next Supreme Court Justice.  It’s about obstruction.

This is about giving the middle finger to the President of the United States.

A president that Mitch and his cronies have despised and obstructed since the moment he first put his hand on the Bible.
